IT'S DONE!
And an incredible success!

Sunday September 7th at Yea Shire Hall saw people from all over the Shire rocking ou with internationally acclaimed artist and musician JOSEPH O’FARRELL (JOF) and a gang of guitarists and bassplayers from all about.

It was big, loud and community-powered. The first support act, Tilly Rose - currently in JJJ's Unearthed comp, wowed the crowd. She was followed by the Yea High School band, who showed that they should be a fixture at more events throughout the Shire. Finally the moment came ... and the house band rocked out on "Long Way to the Top", featuring Michelle Mussett on the iconic bagpipe part, trading licks with the brilliant Luke Pepper on his Les Paul guitar. It was a rock machine!! As the audience drew in its collective breath to shout for more, MC JOF stepped up and with great drama introduced the massed guitarists. To a roar from the crowd they broke into "We Will Rock You" ... and they did, they truly did!

When the massed band kicked into The Ramones' "Blitzkrieg Bop" the whole event was taken up a level by the Dindi Dancers bolting out onto the Yea Shire Hall floor to dance, somersault, and generally be a bunch of highly energetic and remarkably cute punks. We all loved it!

Finally it came to the show closer, "I Love Rock'n'Roll" led by Jan Janz on vocals. It was a huge burst of energy to take out the concert and leave everyone buzzing. "Victorious" is a good word to describe the emotion from the organisers, the players, the dancers ... and even the audience, whose hand-waving, clapping and dancing had made the show such a joyride!
